Since acquiring the intellectual property and assets of Ardais Corporation in early 2006, the executive team at GulfStream Bioinformatics has focused on improving upon and expanding the capabilities of its products while establishing itself as the leader in web-based information management software solutions.

Kareem Saad
President & CEO

Kareem Saad is the President and CEO of GulfStream Bioinformatics. Prior to joining GulfStream Bio, Mr. Saad was a World Wide Business Unit Executive for R&D with IBM's Information Based Medicine business unit, part of IBM Healthcare and Life Sciences. In that role, Mr. Saad led the worldwide team that was responsible for strategy and execution of IBM's Clinical Genomics (Basic Research and Discovery) and Pharmacogenomics (Clinical Development) businesses. In this capacity, Mr. Saad played a pivotal role in the development of the vision for IBM's Information Based Medicine emerging business unit. Prior to joining IBM, Mr. Saad served as Vice President of Bioinformatics for InphoGene BioCommunications, a company he co-founded in Vancouver, BC. There he built systems and applications for acquiring, storing, analyzing and integrating various phenotypic data and high-throughput expression data for identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary disease. Mr. Saad is a co-founder of TransMed Partners, a consulting company delivering professional services to organizations interested in applying technology to translational research initiatives.

Mr. Saad has dual technical degrees in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Computer Science from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Additionally, Mr. Saad holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance, Economics and Strategy from the University of Chicago.

Howard Greenman
Vice President, Business Development and Client Services

Howard Greenman is responsible for GulfStream Bio's Business Development and Client Services activities. Prior to joining GulfStream Bio, he led the strategic marketing function for Philips Medical System's Remote Patient Management Division, part of Philip's New Ventures organization. In this role, Mr. Greenman was responsible for commercialization and partnership strategy for a disease management platform technology. Prior to Philips, Mr. Greenman was Director of Business Development for Ardais Corporation, a biorepository management company offering software technology as well as a library of human biospecimens and molecular services for drug discovery. Mr. Greenman was the founder of medXtend Corporation, a venture backed healthcare services company providing medical devices and services for use by Radiologists and Primary Care Physicians. Additionally, Mr. Greenman worked in a variety of healthcare consulting roles within Accenture's Healthcare Practice, KPMG Peat Marwick's Healthcare Strategy Group, Oracle, and the Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Greenman is a founder and currently sits on the Board of Directors of Store-A-Tooth, an adult stem cell cryopreservation company.

Mr. Greenman holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business in Healthcare Management.

George Pilla
Consulting Chief Financial Officer

George Pilla serves as Consulting Chief Financial Officer and financial advisor to the Company. Mr. Pilla consults to a number of venture-backed technology companies in the areas of financial management, human resources and corporate administration. He has provided guidance to more than 75 companies since 1995. Mr. Pilla has extensive experience in financial management and planning, establishment of banking relationships, equity financing, cash flow management and human resources management, as well as insurance and other administrative matters common to young companies. Previously Mr. Pilla served as the Vice President of Finance and Administration at Course Technology, Inc., Steinbrecher Corporation and Polymer Technology Corporation, all of which were venture-funded. Prior to these positions, Mr. Pilla was an audit manager at Coopers & Lybrand in Boston. Mr. Pilla holds a BS in Accounting from Boston College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Gregg Yost
Vice President, Engineering

Gregg Yost brings over 20 years of software research, development and management experience to GulfStream Bioinformatics, where he is currently Vice President, Engineering. Previously, he served as Chief Software Architect and Vice President of Engineering at Ardais Corporation, where he oversaw the design and implementation of the BIGRŪ system since its very first deployment in 2001. Since then, he has guided the products' expansion into many new areas, including the introduction of the novel KnowledgeCapture technology for rapidly building clinical data annotation applications and disease-specific products. In 2003, the team received the CIO 100 award in recognition of its achievements in quality and productivity.

Prior to joining Ardais, Dr. Yost was chief architect at Active Health Management and co-founder and chief architect of Ellora Software, a supplier of highly configurable clinical care management software and related software development toolkits to hospitals and managed care organizations. He was a member of the research staff at Digital Equipment Corporation, where he investigated specialized software engineering methodologies and tools tailored specifically to complex reasoning domains, including clinical domains. At Digital, he also served as a core member of Digital's global workflow product strategy advisory board.

Dr. Yost holds a PhD in Computer Science and a BS in Applied Mathematics with highest honors, both from Carnegie Mellon University.
