"A company's name ought to say what it does."

Our New Name

In 1998 the Ardais Corporation, the grandparent of today's HealthCare IT, Inc., created a software system to manage the Company's growing biomaterial collection. By 2001, the Company realized the important role that high quality biomaterials would play in the future of molecular medicine and the need for an information system capable of harmonizing data from multiple sources across the spectrum of human disease. In that same year the Company created what has become a world class biomaterials platform know as BIGR (Biomaterials and Information for Genomics Research).

In 2005 the Ardais Corporation sold its biomaterial collection. Not long afterwards, GulfStream Bioinformatics Corporation purchased the software assets of the Company including the BIGR, DiseaseLink, and Knowledge Capture systems. From 2006 to present, GulfStream Bioinformatics has focused on expanding the capability and breadth of these software platforms while meeting the ever evolving needs of the biomedical research community across the country. Today, BIGR is in release 5.4 and is widely recognized as the platform of choice for sophisticated biomedical and clinical research applications.

Today's research tells us that the disease treatments of tomorrow will be based on targeted molecular therapies that account for disease expression at the level of an individual. Achieving this personalized medicine goal requires the fields of science and medicine to exchange information in ways that enable the rapid translation of discoveries into therapies. Biorepository information systems provide a critical link between molecular level measurements and phenotypic patient level data and are thus an enabler on the road to realizing the translational medicine vision. We have changed the name of our Company to better reflect our mission of using information technology to meet the needs of the biomedical research, clinical research and healthcare communities as we achieve the promise of personalized medicine.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our past and current customers and to assure you that we remain, as always, committed to your success.
